All Our Health
Animation created for the Department of Health for a new E-learning platform used by 2 million health professionals
The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) and Public Health England (PHE) are UK Government units within the British Department of Health and Social Care. Together they cover key public health issues. One of the challenges we face as a society is that because people are living longer, more healthcare resources are needed. Living longer doesn’t necessarily mean they are living more healthy lifestyles, so with a rise of diseases such as heart, respiratory and musculoskeletal problems as well as certain cancers, this film addresses some of the practical things which can be done in prevention.
To promote a healthy approach to well-being, the PHE and OHIC have launched a new e-learning platform to support over 2 million healthcare professionals, with a focus on reducing healthcare inequalities and providing better support for all.
The platform; E-Learning for Healthcare (ELFH) hosts bitesize features, training and resources for the new framework; “All Our Health”. A great deal of design time, resources and investment had already gone into creating the platform which had very limited animation functionality so we were brought in to look at their brand and stylised illustrations and work out how to bring them alive in a more user-friendly way. We were able to achieve the animations in-house and align them to the other design assets. We created 2 long films which are broken down into shorter modules dealing with specific areas the client wanted to highlight.
The subject matter could be quite tricky to explain or grasp quickly and we understand how busy healthcare professionals are, so it was important for us to nail down the scripts to be as succinct as possible. We worked very closely with the client team on all our communications so that we could break down the complexities of all of the different services and illnesses and focus on the benefits of All Our Health.
The focus of our animations was to make sure that the information was presented in a clear and concise format which was easy to digest and accessible for all in the service.
We used a townscape environment, so health care professionals at all levels could easily identify the key area. We used graphic overlays and text animation to underscore the key information and help users of the service to quickly navigate to whichever resources they were looking for.
It's always nice to help support important improvements to the way in which public services are used and accessed and this is particularly true of the health service. We were thrilled to be a part of that ongoing improvement.
“Since launching the ELFH hub we now have 2.4 million users and continue to expand the resources on the Learning Hub. We have continued to grow the number of users on our platforms and to work with partners to develop new content. We are really pleased with this. Thanks so much for supporting us with this project. “
